I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Ever since I was
little, I have always collected things. I even have all the things my mom was
given when I was born, such as, new baby cards, hospital bracelets, even the
umbilical cord (yuk). I just have a hard time letting go of THINGS. I dwell so
much in the past that I actually collect memories. Every little token I have
kept over the years has some special meaning to me. I like to sit down, dump
everything on the floor, and then put each item back in the box. That is while I am reminiscing.
I also have a collection of Littlest Pet Shop figures. I am sure
other people have more, but I am at about 400 to date. I have the regular size
pets, some mini pets, and even some micro pets. I can’t get enough of these
little pets. I also keep them separated by categories. I keep them stored away
at all times. The LPS pets are kept in Zip-Loc bags to protect them from the
elements and dust. I will bring them all out on occasion to play with them. I
have a few of the playsets or houses, etc.
First, I set up all the large playsets on my eight-foot table.
Then I pull out the large accessories (which too are stored in Zip-Loc bags or
boxes). I start with the larger ones, such as, playground equipment, the salon
area, etc. These items usually define
the different geographical areas for the pets, such as, the farm, the lake or
ocean, the forest, or even the desert and North Pole. Then I open each Zip-Loc
bag and place the LPS pets all over the table. Certain pets go better with some
of the playsets, such as the pet’s playhouse, the farm, or the veterinary
clinic. Lastly, I pull out the small accessories, such as, items for an
obstacle course in the park like little cars and flags, or salon equipment like
blow dryers and brushes, or hay and vegetables for the farm, etc. The little
accessories also include outfits, hats, umbrellas, little chairs, food items,
etc. Once everything is in place, I start playing with them, one area at a
time. I also take a lot of pictures from the whole set up to individual
sections. The LPS pets are just so precious and adorable. Then I pack
everything back up and store it all away for safe keeping until I want to play
again.
I even have other items that represent the LPS pets. I have a
few stuffed animals of the LPS characters, some stickers, some magnets, and even
a giant coloring book. To think this all started out with me loving dogs so
much, I started off with a few LPS dogs, and then it snowballed from there. The
LPS duplicate a lot of the characters by just changing their colors. My goal
was to try and get at least one of each character that existed. I have a few
duplicate characters but different colors. I couldn’t help myself. Every time I
notice a breed or species of pet I don’t have; I can’t physically stop myself
from purchasing it. If you are a fan, then you know exactly what I mean. LOL
